Another problem related to \u2018machismo\u2019 is domestic violence. The women suffer this in silence as they do not demand their rights often from fear of the retaliation from their husbands and through shame. In Guatemala hundreds of women have been assassinated in last the three years without their murderers being discovered or judged.141 Most these deaths are related to the violence of the drug traffic, gangs of youths and sexual abuse.\u000AWhat produces his lack of equality and the exclusion of women from public life and the making of decisions?
