Droogers says that literature about Pentecostalism shows that it promotes upward social mobility as well (1998: 9).\u000AThe process of economic improvement was translated into a type of social mobility. The process of change starts with their attitudes and thinking about life. An accountant of IVC commented, \u2018I received the first two seminaries on leadership. They gave me a vision about how to invest in high priority things\u2019 (L5ICV). A farmer said, \u2018I learned how to fix goals. It helped me to make more effort and to save money applying the Biblical principles\u2019 (L2IFG). An Electronics Engineer said that in his church they taught to him to \u2018to be diligent at work. This helped me to improve my self esteem, to have a good image about myself\u2019 (L5IVF). An Accountant points out that from the lessons he has received he remembers how to improve as a professional and live better: \u2018These principles helped me to work for God and not for my bosses and to be more conscientious about my work schedule\u2019 (L3IFG). I took \u2018the seminar on the Victorious Life that takes into account spiritual, social, family and work issues. It has helped me to administer better and to be successful in life\u2019 (L7IFG).\u000AAnother informant affirmed that \u2018the study of analogies between the Bible, the providence of God and human needs\u2019 helped him to have a better understanding of the spirituality of the family. At the same time it helped him to get a good wage in his job\u2019 (L1FCG). These answers show the success reached in the area of work, business or in their relationships with their spouses. Of course, among the laity interviewed many of them already had prosperous businesses or companies and were developing. Hallum comments about this: \u2018The Neo-Pentecostals are the most upwardly mobile of the three [among mainline churches, Pentecostal and Neo-Pentecostal], to the extent that the Guatemalan economy allows socio-economic mobility.
